Leone Equestrian Law, founded this fall as a legal services and consultation firm for equestrian professionals, is proud to unveil their website: EquestrianCounsel.com.
Providing legal counsel and representation to equestrians ranging from riders and trainers to owners and show managers in the FEI disciplines, Leone Equestrian Law was created by Armand Leone, an experienced member of the horse sport community. With extensive presence in the equine industry, Leone is bringing more than a decade of legal expertise to the sports he loves.
“Whether it’s sponsorship representation, insurance coverage, lease agreements or risk management, we provide equestrian professionals with equal parts legal expert and industry insider,” said Leone. “For me, combining my professional experience with a passion for all things equine was a lifelong goal and an exhilarating venture.”
An equestrian athlete dedicated to fair play, safe sport, and clean competition, Leone is currently serving as the Chairman of the Conduct Committee for the United States Hunter Jumper Association. He was formerly Vice-President of the High Performance Sport division and Director for the United States Equestrian Federation from 2004–2013. As a professional and international competitor, he has an impressive list of riding accomplishments, including FEI World Cup Finals appearances, CSIO Nations Cup team wins, and an extensive grand prix win tally. Still an avid rider and trainer, Leone is co-owner at his family’s Ri-Arm Farm in Oakland, New Jersey.
Leone graduated from the Columbia Business School in New York with a concentration in Healthcare & Finance. He previously graduated from the Columbia University School of Law and is Licensed in the New Jersey State Board of Medical Examiners. He has been admitted to the New Jersey and New York State Bars, the Federal Court of Claim and is also a Fellow of the American College of Legal Medicine.
Together with Jessica E. Choper, an attorney with expertise in equestrian matters, medical malpractice, nursing home litigation, and appellate practice, Leone launched Leone Equestrian Law and EquestrianCounsel.com to exclusively serve the equine industry through personalized care with the utmost respect for confidentiality.
“Our aim was to provide a firm that could confidently handle the legal side of the business from start to finish,” said Leone. “It’s an intricate business, and equestrian professionals deserve a knowledgeable team.”
Designed by EquestriSol, EquestrianCounsel.com provides resources for the equestrian athlete, trainer, owner, facility owner, competition manager, and equestrian organization. While a direct link to counsel from Leone and Choper, the site is also a hub of online resources for FEI regulations, international disciplines, industry news and more.
